Documentation & User Manuals

Welcome to the official documentation and technical reference hub for OmniForge Studio software utilities. All our tools are free, open-source, and engineered for native performance on Windows 10 and 11.

Getting Started

OmniForge utilities are built strictly according to portable software principles. There are no registry pollutions, no silent telemetry daemons, and no mandatory installer wrappers.

  1. Download the respective executable or zip file directly from our official releases or GitHub repositories.
  2. Extract or place the executable into your preferred directory (such as C:\Tools\OmniForge\ or your user profile).
  3. Double-click the executable to launch. The tool immediately integrates with your desktop environment.

System Requirements

Specification Minimum Requirement Recommended
Operating System Windows 10 64-bit (Build 19041+) Windows 11 (22H2 or newer)

Memory (RAM) Under 100 MB available free memory 16 GB system memory (shared)
Graphics API DirectX 11 / OpenGL 3.3 compatible DirectX 12 / Dedicated GPU (Ambient 3D)
Storage Space 50 MB free disk space per utility SSD recommended

CatchSpace Documentation

CatchSpace provides an invisible, ephemeral holding shelf at the edge of your screen. It eliminates the cognitive overhead of resizing overlapping windows when dragging and dropping files between applications.

Basic Workflow

  • Step 1: Click and drag any file from Windows File Explorer, your desktop, or an application.
  • Step 2: Move the mouse cursor toward the designated screen edge. CatchSpace automatically senses the drag event and slides out its drop shelf.
  • Step 3: Release the file over the shelf. The file is now suspended in the temporary holding buffer.
  • Step 4: Maximize or navigate to your target destination (e.g. Email draft, Slack, cloud storage).
  • Step 5: Drag the file out of the CatchSpace shelf into your destination. The shelf auto-clears and returns to dormant mode.

Gesture & Mouse Controls

Action Trigger / Gesture Description
Open Shelf Drag file near screen edge (< 20px) Sensors detect active drag and animate shelf into view.
Cancel / Dismiss Press Escape or click outside Cancels pending drag and slides shelf out of view.
Clear Shelf Right-click on shelf surface Manually flushes suspended file handles without moving.

Configuration

CatchSpace keeps its settings in a portable appsettings.json file located beside the executable. From there you can choose which screen edge the shelf docks to, adjust the edge-detection distance, and toggle the shelf animation. Delete the file to restore defaults — nothing is ever written to the registry.

Ambient 3D Documentation

Ambient 3D is a hardware-accelerated 3D wallpaper engine that renders volumetric spatial scenes beneath your desktop shortcuts.

Orbit & Parallax Controls

Input Behavior
Cursor Movement Holographic parallax tilting relative to center screen.
Click & Drag Desktop Orbit camera 360-degrees around the 3D focal object.
Mouse Scroll Wheel Dolly virtual camera in and out of the depth plane.

Game Auto-Pause Configuration

Ambient 3D includes an autonomous fullscreen detection subsystem. When any application enters exclusive fullscreen or borderless fullscreen mode (such as Counter-Strike, Cyberpunk 2077, or video editing suites), the rendering engine enters zero-overhead suspension:

  • Frame rate drops to 0 FPS.
  • Shader compilation and draw calls are halted.
  • GPU utilization returns to 0.0%.
  • Resumes instantly upon returning to the desktop.

Troubleshooting & FAQ

Windows SmartScreen / Antivirus Flags "Unknown Publisher"

OmniForge Studio is an independent, free software project. Windows SmartScreen displays a warning for newly released binaries that have not yet accumulated enterprise code-signing reputation (which costs over $500/year). Our binaries are 100% open-source and free of malware. You can inspect the source code on GitHub and build directly from source if desired. To run: click "More info" and select "Run anyway".

Multi-Monitor Display Scaling Issues

If you are using multi-monitor setups with mismatched DPI scaling (e.g. 150% on monitor 1 and 100% on monitor 2), ensure that Windows is configured with "Fix scaling for apps" enabled under Windows Display Settings. CatchSpace and Ambient 3D natively support Per-Monitor DPI V2.

Where are application configuration files stored?

OmniForge applications prioritize portable operation. Settings are stored locally within an appsettings.json file located directly beside the executable, or in your local AppData directory (%LOCALAPPDATA%\OmniForge\).

How do I uninstall?

Since OmniForge utilities are portable, simply close the running process from the system tray or Task Manager and delete the application folder. No leftover registry keys or orphaned files remain.
